Government Pledges to Safeguard Hotel Sultan Employees' Future
Wakil Menteri Sekretaris Negara (Wamensesneg) Juri Ardiantoro stated that the government and the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) management will consider the fate of Hotel Sultan employees affected by the execution. He urged staff not to worry about losing their jobs following the takeover.
“We want to humanise them. We will collect their data, invite them to communicate, and involve them in continuing activities at GBK. So do not worry about the employees, and we are opening the widest possible communication channels, setting up a post, and providing direct lines for them to communicate with the GBK Public Service Agency (PPK GBK),” Juri told reporters on the sidelines of the Hotel Sultan execution at the location on Thursday (18/6/2026).
Juri explained that GBK will record the number of affected employees and subsequently consider their future.
“So, regarding the employees of Hotel Sultan, or former employees, in principle, we from the Ministry of State Secretariat are asking PPK GBK not only to collect data but to genuinely pay attention to the fate of these Hotel Sultan workers,” he clarified.
Juri stressed that the execution of Hotel Sultan must not have a negative impact on the employees. He insisted that they should not become victims.
“The bottom line is, we do not want them to become the party that is sacrificed after this asset takeover,” he added.
Furthermore, Juri mentioned that the government has requested PPK GBK to formulate a plan for the utilisation of the former Hotel Sultan asset, so that the future direction of the property becomes clear.
“Regarding the utilisation of this asset, it has been explained earlier. First, of course, PPK GBK, which has been entrusted by the Ministry of State Secretariat as the manager of this state property, must design and arrange the next steps for the utilisation of this Hotel Sultan,” he said.
“Later, we will convey, or GBK will inform you, about the scenario for the future utilisation of Hotel Sultan,” he concluded.
