The Ministry of Tourism is striving to open opportunities for cooperation in the development of premium tourism businesses and to facilitate the expansion of high-quality tourism business networks. According to a government press release confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday, the Ministry of Tourism held a Luxury Business Gathering in Jakarta on 26 May 2026 to bring together premium tourism industry players with potential buyers.

This business meeting activity is designed to assist in expanding business networks while opening opportunities for cooperation in the development of premium tourism services. Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana emphasised the need for national tourism businesses to present competitive, high-quality tourism products to increase domestic interest in travelling within Indonesia.

According to the Deputy for Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism, Ni Made Ayu Marthannya, the Luxury Business Gathering provides opportunities to expand the market for premium tourism services. “We are bringing together sellers who offer premium tourism packages and products with exclusive services and high-quality experiences, capable of meeting the needs of the ever-evolving luxury tourism market,” she stated.

Participants in the business meeting included entrepreneurs in the hospitality sector, travel services, marine tourism services, and members of tourism industry associations. Through a concept of table rotations and intensive discussions, the Ministry hopes to create concrete and sustainable business cooperation opportunities.

The Ministry of Tourism is working to build a strong, integrated, and competitive domestic premium tourism ecosystem. The meeting between industry players and potential buyers is expected to encourage the emergence of more premium tourism service products, the development of tourist destinations, and an increase in domestic tourist trips.

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) recorded that during 2025, the number of domestic tourist trips reached 1.20 billion, representing a growth of 17.53 per cent compared to the previous year. From January to March 2026, the number of domestic tourist trips reached 319.51 million, an increase of 13.14 per cent compared to the same period in the previous year.
