Government opens KIP Kuliah SNBT scholarship registration until 7 April
Through KIP Kuliah, the state is present to ensure that economic limitations do not become obstacles for the younger generation in achieving their dreams. Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek) has officially opened registration for prospective participants in the Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) Kuliah programme via the National Selection Based on Test (SNBT) pathway. Acting Head of the Higher Education Funding and Assessment Centre (PPAPT) of Kemdiktisaintek, Sandro Mihradi, emphasised that KIP Kuliah is a tangible manifestation of the state’s support in delivering social justice in education, as well as a long-term investment in producing superior Indonesian human resources (SDM). “Through KIP Kuliah, the state is present to ensure that economic limitations do not become obstacles for the younger generation in achieving their dreams,” said Sandro in a written statement in Jakarta on Friday. Sandro stated that KIP Kuliah is not merely an assistance programme, but a form of the state’s support in providing fair access to education. Additionally, the KIP Kuliah system has been integrated with various national platforms, including the National New Student Admission Selection System (SNPMB), thereby facilitating the registration process and data synchronisation for prospective students. Furthermore, Head of the Higher Education Funding Services Facilitation Division of Kemdiktisaintek, Septien Prima Diassari, added that the KIP Kuliah programme also provides various benefits, including exemption from UTBK registration fees for eligible participants, guarantees for education costs (UKT) at amounts corresponding to the field of study and programme accreditation, as well as living expense assistance adjusted to the regional price index. She explained that KIP Kuliah registration is conducted online through the SIM KIP Kuliah and follows the national selection schedule. For the 2026 SNBT pathway, KIP Kuliah selection registration runs from 25 March to 7 April 2026. Kemdiktisaintek urges prospective students to promptly complete all requirements and ensure data synchronisation before finalising registration. “The government targets that no Indonesian child will fail to continue higher education solely due to economic limitations. KIP Kuliah is expected to become a collective movement in realising more inclusive, equitable, and just higher education,” said Septien Prima Diassari.
