Government Opens 5,476 Positions for Fishermen's Village Managers, Coordinating Minister Zulhas: No Favouritism!
The government has officially opened national recruitment for 5,476 positions for managers of the Merah Putih Fishermen’s Villages (KNMP) on Wednesday (16/4/2026). This programme is part of efforts to strengthen the maritime and fisheries sector as well as create jobs. Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan stressed that the selection process is conducted openly, transparently, and without any fees. “There are no special channels, no favouritism, no fees. All processes are only through the official channel phtc.panselnas.go.id. If any party promises passing in exchange for something, that is a scam,” he said during a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday, as quoted from Antara. Participants who pass the selection will be placed as employees of a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) under PT Agrinas Jaladri Nusantara with a Fixed-Term Employment Agreement (PKWT) for two years. Zulkifli also emphasised that workforce placement will prioritise local communities. “If there are two candidates with the same score, then priority is given to those from the nearest area,” he said. Meanwhile, the Head of the Agency for Extension and Development of Marine and Fisheries Human Resources (BPPSDMKP) Nyoman Radiarta explained that the KNMP recruitment covers four main positions, namely manager, head of production, quality assurance, and financial administration. “For managers, the minimum qualification is D4 and above, while for head of production, quality assurance, and financial administration, it is open to D3 graduates and above. All are under PKWT status for two years in accordance with Agrinas regulations,” he said. The government targets the construction of 1,300 Merah Putih Fishermen’s Villages to be completed by the end of 2026. In addition, the government is also opening 30,000 positions for managers of Merah Putih Village/Subdistrict Cooperatives under Agrinas Pangan Nusantara. Registration runs until 24 April 2026 through the designated official channels.
