Government Opens 150,000 Internship Vacancies, Here is the Schedule and How to Register

Minister of Manpower Yassierli, together with Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, launched the second batch of the National Apprenticeship Programme (MagangHub) for 2026 in Jakarta on Monday. In this second batch, the government has increased the participant quota from 100,000 to 150,000 people in an effort to expand opportunities for university graduates to gain work experience while accelerating their transition into the world of work. Registration for organising partners and vacancy submissions through the SIAPKerja platform is open from 29 June to 15 July 2026. Meanwhile, participant registration will take place from 15 to 28 July 2026. The selection process will be carried out from 29 July to 5 August 2026, and successful participants are scheduled to begin their apprenticeships on 10 August 2026. The kick-off for MagangHub Batch II, Wave I, will be held on 11 August 2026. Minister of Manpower Yassierli stated that the quota increase is a follow-up to the evaluation of the first batch, which showed positive results in supporting labour absorption. The government is therefore continuing to refine the programme’s implementation so that its benefits become broader and more capable of meeting the needs of the business and industrial world. In addition to increasing the number of participants, the government is also strengthening the quality of the programme’s implementation. Companies, ministries, and institutions must first submit their available internship position requirements. The Ministry of Manpower then conducts verification to ensure these positions match the competencies and educational backgrounds of prospective participants. Yassierli added that the selection process for organising partners is also carried out strictly so that participants gain work experience relevant to the needs of the business and industrial world and have greater opportunities to develop their careers after completing the apprenticeship. Besides gaining work experience, all participants who successfully complete the National Apprenticeship Programme will also receive free competency certification facilitation according to their respective fields of expertise. This facility is expected to further strengthen graduates’ competitiveness as they possess competency recognition required by the business and industrial world. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya emphasised that the government continues to strengthen the transition of university graduates into the world of work through increasingly inclusive programmes. He noted that the implementation of the second batch of MagangHub is open not only to recent bachelor’s degree graduates but also to graduates of professional education and persons with disabilities, as part of the government’s commitment to expanding access to equal employment opportunities.
