Government Not Planning to Withdraw TNI Troops from Lebanon, But Continues Evaluation
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya has affirmed that the government does not plan to withdraw TNI troops from the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). However, the government continues to evaluate the situation following the deaths of three soldiers due to military attacks in the Israel-Lebanon conflict. “There are no plans for that (withdrawal of troops). The evaluation continues, both internal and external,” said Seskab Teddy, when met at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday (10/4/2026). He stated that Indonesia’s commitment to maintaining world peace is firmly outlined in the preamble of the 1945 Constitution (UUD). “I think it has been clearly stated that, in accordance with the fourth paragraph of the preamble of the Constitution, it promotes world order.
