Government Limits Official Vehicle Use by 50%, Encourages Use of Transum
The government has established a work-from-home (WFH) policy for civil servants (ASN) every Friday of the week. The government has also requested a limitation on the use of official vehicles by up to 50 per cent.
“Efficiency in mobility, including a 50 per cent restriction on official vehicles except for operational purposes and electric vehicles,” said Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto during a virtual press conference on Tuesday (31/3/2026).
Airlangga urged ASN to make good use of the WFH policy for this week. He also emphasised the use of public transportation to reduce the consumption of fuel oil (BBM).
“Encouraging the use of public transportation. So, reducing official vehicles and using public transport as much as possible,” he stated.
In addition, the government has set adjustments to policies regarding official travel for ASN. Restrictions on overseas work visits have been reduced by up to 70 per cent. This policy will take effect starting 1 April.
“Efficiency in domestic official travel by up to 50 per cent, overseas by up to 70 per cent,” Airlangga concluded.
