Government Limits Official Domestic Travel by 50%, Overseas by 70%
The government has designated Friday as a work-from-home (WFH) policy day once a week for civil servants (ASN). As part of efficiency efforts, the government is also restricting official domestic and overseas travel. “Then, efficiency of domestic official travel up to 50% and overseas up to 70%,” said Coordinating Minister for the Economy RI Airlangga Hartarto, during a press conference on Tuesday (31/3/2026). In addition, the government is limiting the use of official vehicles by 50%. The government encourages maximum use of public transport during this efficiency period. “Mobility efficiency includes a 50% restriction on the use of official vehicles, except for operational purposes and electric vehicles, and encourages the use of public transport,” he stated. Airlangga said this policy will be regulated in a circular from the Minister of Home Affairs. “This will be regulated by a circular from the Minister of Home Affairs,” he emphasised. This policy will apply starting from 1 April tomorrow. The government emphasises that the implemented efficiency does not reduce the performance and services of ASN to the public.
