Government Launches Public Poll for 81st Independence Day Logo Selection
President Prabowo Subianto has instructed his administration to involve the public in selecting the logo and visual identity for the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. The government, through the Ministry of State Secretariat, officially launched the public polling for the logo selection on Wednesday, 24 June 2026.
Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya stated that this marks the first time in history the public has been directly involved in determining the official Independence Day logo. “At the direction of the President, the public is actively involved in determining the logo through a public polling mechanism,” Riefky said at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Wednesday afternoon.
Riefky explained that the logo competition for the 81st Independence Day attracted 124 participants from various regions across Indonesia. Following a selection and curation process, five designers were chosen as the best finalists. These five works will now be voted on directly by the public. The government collaborated with the Indonesian Graphic Designers Association (ADGI) to select the five finalists.
On the same occasion, Deputy Minister of State Secretary Juri Ardiantoro announced that the government has also set the official theme for the 81st Independence Day commemoration. The theme is “A Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia.”
“The President wants the Indonesian people to be directly involved in determining the logo and visuals that will be used or designated as the Independence Day logo. So, the President’s directive is that the festivity of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence also belongs to the people, to all Indonesian society,” Juri said.
According to Juri, the five candidate logos are the work of professional graphic designers and were curated based on their alignment with the established national theme. The five finalists open for public voting hail from various regions of Indonesia: David Wirawan from Surakarta, Fajar Novario from Padang, Kanda Putra from Denpasar, Riskiawan from Malang, and Tiffany Djohan from Batam.
The logo selection process runs from 24 to 28 June 2026. The public can participate through the official channel prepared by the government at https://logohutri.istanapresiden.go.id/.
