Government Launches Free National Vocational Training Programme
The government officially launched the National Vocational Training Programme on Friday, 27 February 2026. The programme aims to enhance the work competency of secondary school graduates to align with labour market demands.
The programme is specifically targeted at graduates from senior secondary schools (SMA) and vocational secondary schools (SMK) who completed their studies within the past three years. The government has allocated budget from the State Budget (APBN) to manage the National Vocational Training Programme for 70,000 people.
However, in the initial phase, the programme will first target 20,000 participants. If the programme performs optimally, the government will conduct an evaluation to enable the National Vocational Training Programme to reach a broader base of SMA/SMK graduates.
