Government Holds Training and Bazaar to Boost Economy on Sabira Island

The Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and Small and Medium Enterprises (PPKUKM) Sub-department of the Thousand Islands Regency held training for MSME actors and a bazaar at the Sabira Island Pier, Harapan Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands, to stimulate the economy on this outermost island.

Head of the SME Section at the Thousand Islands PPKUKM Sub-department, Sigit Dwiyanto, stated on Tuesday that the training, held at the Sabira Island Transit House and attended by 25 assisted MSMEs, is expected to increase the capacity and competence of business actors so they can adapt to technological developments and digital marketing trends.

“We want to equip them with knowledge and skills relevant to current needs, so that business actors can utilise digital technology to develop their businesses more effectively and sustainably,” he said.

The training featured professional speakers, including Managing Partner of Lariba Consulting, Ilham Reza Ferdian, who presented material on Digital Marketing Through AI Video, and Senior Trainer of PRADNYANA Learning Partner, Asjry Mamora Lubis, who delivered material on Becoming a Productive and Blessed Entrepreneur.

In addition, the Thousand Islands PPKUKM Sub-department also held a bazaar involving 25 assisted MSMEs. “We held a local entrepreneur bazaar and affordable cooking oil sale, featuring 25 assisted micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) showcasing various local superior products,” said Sigit.

He added that the bazaar activity is part of the government’s effort to support MSME development while expanding market access for business actors in the Thousand Islands region. The sub-department provided a promotional space for MSME actors so that their products become better known to the public.

“We hope this activity can help increase sales, expand marketing networks, and encourage economic growth for the community on Sabira Island,” Sigit concluded.
