Deputy Minister for Cooperatives Farida Farichah has stated that the government will announce the names of 30,000 candidates who have passed the selection process to become managers of the Koperasi Merah Putih. “We are optimistic that the managers, who have been announced today and will receive education and training, can carry out operations optimally,” Farida said at the Parliament complex in Senayan on Thursday, 11 June 2026. The recruitment process for Koperasi Merah Putih managers began when the government opened online applications for nine days, from 15 to 24 April 2026. Applicants subsequently had to complete three selection stages before being declared successful. The 30,000 successful Koperasi Merah Putih managers will work under the auspices of the state-owned enterprise, PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara, under a fixed-term employment contract (PKWT) scheme lasting two years. After the two-year period, Farida said the government would conduct an evaluation of the managers. Farida explained that Agrinas’ involvement in the Koperasi Merah Putih ecosystem is necessary due to the shortage of human resources in rural communities. “Hence, Koperasi Desa Merah Putih managers are being deployed to every village,” said the National Awakening Party politician. Regarding the salary scale, Farida stated that the government has yet to finalise it. She said the Ministry of Finance is still reviewing the compensation for the cooperative managers. Farida indicated the government would announce the salary scale soon. “This month, pray for it,” she said. Previously, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan stated that the salaries for the 30,000 Koperasi Desa Merah Putih managers would be paid through Agrinas. Meanwhile, Minister for Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Rini Widyantini said the salary payments follow the state-owned enterprise scheme. “Because these are BUMN employees, they will certainly follow the BUMN scheme,” she said. She emphasised that the selection of cooperative managers differs from the recruitment process for civil servants or government employees with fixed-term contracts.
