Government Guarantees LPG 3-kilogram Subsidy and Pertalite Price Stability Until 2026
JABARONLINE.COM - The Ministry of Investment/BKPM (Badan Koordinasi Penanaman Modal) reaffirmed the direction of Indonesia’s energy price policy going forward, with a primary focus on maintaining stability in the prices of certain types of fuel.
This concerns the fate of consumers who use Pertalite, who have benefited from government-subsidised prices. The certainty was communicated to quell public speculation about potential energy tariff adjustments.
The Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM, Bahlil Lahadalia, firmly stated the government’s commitment to maintaining the selling price of Pertalite. The assurance applies for a fairly long period ahead.
This statement was issued in response to circulating issues about possible changes to subsidised fuel prices. The government wants to ensure that households are not burdened by fluctuations in energy prices.
“Pertalite price, we will maintain it; it will not increase until 2026,” said Bahlil Lahadalia, emphasising the government’s commitment.
Moreover, Bahlil also gave similar assurances regarding another vital energy commodity. Subsidies for LPG 3 kilograms are also guaranteed to continue without significant changes.
This demonstrates the government’s effort to protect the purchasing power of the people, especially the lower-middle-income group. The policy aligns with efforts to maintain macroeconomic stability.
Quoting a news source that covered the statement, Bahlil stressed that energy price stability is a top priority at present.
“Regarding LPG 3 kilograms, we will keep it going; there will be no changes, i.e., it will remain subsidised,” said Bahlil regarding the fate of subsidised LPG.
