Indonesian authorities say domestic stocks of food and energy supplies are secure and under control ahead of Idul Fitri 1447 H / 2026 CE. This was stated by Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia after attending a limited meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace complex, Jakarta, on Wednesday. ‘I deal with food: how Lebaran’s availability is maintained and prices remain affordable,’ said Zulkifli Hasan. He said the government’s main focus at present is to safeguard market supplies and ensure price stability so that prices remain affordable for the people. The man nicknamed Zulhas said the government continues to strive to maintain supplies and price stability ahead of Lebaran. As a concrete step, Zulhas said he has been actively going to various regions to ensure distribution runs smoothly and to push for intervention if prices rise. ‘I have also asked to travel around Indonesia, to the regions, to meet regents and mayors to organise bazaars or market operations,’ he added. In addition to the food sector, the government is also ensuring energy availability, from fuel (BBM) to LPG, is secure to meet the needs of the people ahead of Lebaran. This was conveyed by Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, based on the results of a meeting with the National Energy Council (DEN). ‘We have anticipated that BBM stocks ahead of Idul Fitri, God willing, are all safe, including LPG. So there is no need for doubt, even though global dynamics in Iran and Israel exist,’ said Bahlil. ‘I guarantee that the prices of subsidised BBM will not rise up to the holiday. Even if there is an increase in oil prices due to the conflict involving Israel, the United States, and Iran,’ he added. However, for non-subsidised BBM, Bahlil explained that price adjustments will continue to follow market mechanisms in accordance with the 2022 Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation. The government will continue to coordinate cross-ministerial and agency efforts intensively until the Lebaran holiday ends, to ensure national economic activity and mobility run smoothly without hindrance to food or energy needs.
