Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The government has announced the establishment of PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia to handle domestic commodity exports. Initially, PT DSI will oversee the export of three commodities: coal, palm oil, and ferro alloy.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, explained that this move is a continuation of President Prabowo Subianto’s speech to improve natural resource management.

“This implementation will initially cover our three largest exports: coal, palm oil, and ferro alloy,” Airlangga said at a press conference in Jakarta on Sunday (31 May 2026).

“The export of these three natural resources will be conducted through a single-window mechanism via PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia to ensure better implementation,” he explained.

Airlangga added that this regulation will strengthen export oversight and management, aiming to prevent underpricing and foreign exchange leakage from exports.

“Thus, recorded export values will reflect actual transactions,” he said.

These three commodities contributed $66.13 billion in exports in 2025. The single-window export implementation begins on Monday (1 June 2026). An evaluation will be conducted in the first three months, with full implementation starting 1 January 2027.

Airlangga stated this preparation allows relevant parties sufficient time to adjust, including ensuring business certainty.

“Implementation will take effect tomorrow, 1 June 2026, as a transitional period where exporters must report their activities through PT DSI, with customs handling the portal access,” he said.

“This gives entrepreneurs, exporters, and related parties sufficient time to adjust to the policy,” Airlangga clarified.

Meanwhile, Danantara Indonesia Chief Operating Officer (COO) Dony Oskaria assured that PT DSI’s export management would be transparent.

“At PT DSI, we ensure the company operates transparently. We don’t want bad intentions being handled poorly, merely shifting problems. We guarantee the newly formed company will operate transparently,” he stressed at the same venue.
