The head of the National Sector Task Force for the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) for the Ramadan and Eid 2026 period, Erika Retnowati, has assured that the nation’s energy supply is in a safe and reliable condition to support community activities during the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri.

The government continues to monitor and ensure the availability of energy, both electricity and fuel, so that the needs of the public during the holiday exodus and Eid celebrations can be fulfilled.

“The government continuously ensures that energy supply is adequate and reliable at the time of Eid 2026,” Retnowati stated.

For the electricity sector, the government estimates that peak load during Eid will reach approximately 31,000 megawatts (MW). Meanwhile, the national electricity system’s supply capacity is projected to reach around 51,000 MW.

“Thus there is a reserve of approximately 16,000 MW or around 48 percent of total supply. With this substantial reserve, the government ensures that electricity conditions are safe and reliable to meet public needs,” Retnowati explained.

She added that the electricity supply has been prepared to anticipate increased energy demands at various centres of community activity during the Eid period.

In addition to electricity, the government also ensures the availability of fuel supply remains secure through strengthening stocks carried out by assigned business entities, including Pertamina.

According to Retnowati, national fuel reserves are currently at levels sufficient to support public needs during the exodus period.

“As of today, petrol reserve positions reach approximately 25 days. In fact, for certain products such as Pertadex, reserves reach 45 days, whilst for Avtur needed by the aviation sector, it reaches approximately 37 days,” she said.

With these conditions, the government assures the public that there is no need to worry about energy availability during the exodus and Eid celebration periods.

“The government ensures that energy supply, particularly electricity and fuel, is available safely for Eid 2026 so that the public can undertake their holiday travel safely and smoothly,” Retnowati concluded.
