Government ensures Reserve Component training will impact civil servant career paths
The Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenPAN-RB) has ensured that the basic military training (Latsarmil) programme for the Reserve Component (Komcad) will influence the career progression of the participating civil servants (ASN).
“This training will certainly be recorded as part of the individual’s competency and will be directly proportional to their respective career systems,” stated the Minister of PAN-RB, Rini Widyantini, during a press conference following the closing ceremony of the first wave of ASN Komcad training at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base, East Jakarta, on Friday.
According to Rini, every civil servant is obligated to participate in competency development programmes for a minimum of 20 lesson hours (JP) per year. By completing the 1.5-month military training, Rini confirmed that the participating civil servants have met the minimum required lesson hours. This achievement, she continued, will also serve as a factor for employees to achieve career advancement within their respective agencies.
However, Rini expressed hope that civil servants would not merely seek career advancement through the Reserve Component. She hopes that the training will foster higher levels of nationalism, discipline, and reliability within their agencies. In doing so, the ASN Komcad members will be more motivated to serve the people and the state, acting as role models for other civil servants in their respective institutions.
The participants underwent military education across several TNI units, including the Health Education Centre (Pusdikkes), Education Squadron (Skadik) 301, the Indonesian Air Force Language Centre (Pusbahasa TNI AU), the Jaya Military Regional Command (Kodam Jaya), and the 1st Marine Force (Pasmar 1) Cilandak.
Over the course of one and a half months, they acquired various skills ranging from basic military training, such as shooting practice and military operation simulations, to theoretical material regarding nationalism and discipline. Upon completion of their military education, the ASN Komcad members will return to their respective agencies to resume their duties.
