JAKARTA - The Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) is coordinating with local authorities to ensure the child sexual abuse victim in Pandeglang Regency, Banten, receives necessary services and protection during recovery.

Minister Arifah Fauzi said: “The Ministry of PPPA continues to coordinate with the local PPPA office and relevant parties to ensure the victim receives the necessary services and rights. We also ensure the victim is in a safe and protected environment during the recovery process for their best interest.”

She emphasised the case constitutes a serious violation of children’s rights and highlights failures in parental care and protection duties. The perpetrator can be prosecuted under the Child Protection Law, Sexual Violence Crime Law (TPKS), and Criminal Code (KUHP), with aggravated penalties due to the biological parent abusing their power over the victim, who was allegedly unable to resist. Under TPKS law, sexual violence crimes cannot be resolved outside judicial processes.

The victim reported repeated sexual abuse by her biological father, and police have since detained the suspect.
