Government ensures quality education in Sekolah Rakyat schools
“Sekolah Rakyat is supported by quality teachers so that students can receive the best education,” he said while visiting junior-high-level SRMP 16 here on Monday.
Sekolah Rakyat is a flagship program under the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, offering free, full-boarding education for children from extremely poor and vulnerable families. The program is implemented under the coordination of the Ministry of Social Affairs.
During a dialogue with teachers and students, Haq stressed that the quality of learning is key to the success of Sekolah Rakyat.
“The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education continues to fully support Sekolah Rakyat, including by preparing qualified teachers and strengthening continuous mentoring to ensure that learning quality is maintained and keeps improving,” he said.
He added that his visit was also aimed at ensuring that teacher development is running well and that synergy among regional government offices is maintained.
“I came here to ensure that our technical units are actively fostering teachers at Sekolah Rakyat, while also ensuring that this program runs with strong synergy among government institutions at the regional level, so that the benefits are truly felt by our children,” he said.
On that occasion, he also reviewed student dormitories and the learning environment. He also stressed the school’s role in reaching children from the lowest income groups and providing them with quality education.
“The children at Sekolah Rakyat receive a very good opportunity from the government. Therefore, study diligently, pursue your dreams as high as possible, and when you succeed, do not forget to help others,” he said.
