Jakarta — The Government, through the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos), has distributed emergency aid packages valued at Rp6 billion to disaster-affected communities across Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra provinces to assist survivors in meeting their basic needs during Ramadhan fasting.

“Overall, during this Ramadhan period, we have distributed approximately 19,000 food and essential goods packages across these three regions with a total aid value of Rp6 billion,” said Masriani Mansyur, Director of Natural Disaster Victim Social Protection (PSKBA) at the Ministry of Social Affairs, speaking in Jakarta on Wednesday.

In Aceh province, the Ministry distributed 12,500 packages valued at Rp4.7 billion. In West Sumatra, 2,000 packages were provided worth Rp500 million, whilst North Sumatra received 4,500 packages with a total value of Rp1.12 billion.

Beyond food distribution, the Ministry has also deployed teams from the Disaster Response Youth Corps (Tagana) to assist with post-disaster recovery efforts across the three provinces. These teams provide aid distribution, operate communal kitchens, and offer transition support to help residents move from temporary evacuation tents to temporary housing units (huntara).

“Ramadhan does not halt the Ministry of Social Affairs’ services. Rather, during this month of blessing, we are committed to ensuring that communities in need continue to receive assistance,” Mansyur stated.
