Government Distributes Rp 483.9 Billion in Social Assistance to Disaster Survivors in Sumatra

The government claims to have distributed social assistance (bansos) worth a total of Rp 483.9 billion to support the lives of survivors in the aftermath of floods and landslides in Aceh Province, North Sumatra (Sumut), and West Sumatra (Sumbar) to date. “Precisely, the total funds disbursed from the Task Force (Satgas) for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) Post-Sumatra Disaster report as of 6 April 2026 amount to Rp 483,959.85 billion,” stated the Task Force (Satgas) for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) Post-Sumatra Disaster on Thursday (9/4/2026), quoted from Antara. Therefore, the Satgas PRR continues to accelerate the distribution of various social aids to support the lives of survivors in the aftermath of floods and landslides in the three provinces. These aid packages are distributed to support the acceleration of recovery while helping to meet the economic needs of disaster survivors. “As of 6 April, the distribution of daily food aid (jadup), housing contents aid, and economic stimulus has reached 60,373 individuals out of the total planned allocation of 66,008 individuals,” stated Satgas PRR. In detail, Aceh recorded the highest realisation with distribution reaching 47,483 individuals and total funds disbursed amounting to Rp 366.298 billion. The jadup distribution scheme is provided at Rp 15,000 per person per day for three months, housing contents aid is provided at Rp 3 million per family head, while social and economic stimulus aid is given at Rp 5 million per family. Jadup, housing contents, and economic stimulus aid are one of the post-disaster aid schemes provided to ensure the continuity of life for disaster survivors. This step is taken to ensure that the recovery process not only touches physical infrastructure but also the community’s purchasing power, which must recover post-disaster. The amount of direct cash assistance (DTH) disbursed is Rp 600,000 per month for a period of three months, so each family head receives a total fund of Rp 1.8 million. To date, all recipient accounts for DTH have received fund transfers with a distribution rate of 100 percent for 14,775 recipients in the three provinces. The details in Aceh consist of 8,709 recipients, then in Sumut 4,162 recipients, and in Sumbar 1,904 recipients. Tito explained that while temporary housing (huntap) is not yet completed, disaster survivors will receive side dish assistance of Rp 15,000 per person per day for three months. This scheme is adjusted to the target construction time for huntap, which takes approximately three to four months. “While huntap is not yet built, the community need not worry, because there is temporary shelter (huntara). Later, the side dish money fund of Rp 15,000 per person per day will continue to run.
