The government has disbursed 100,000 food aid packages to the public through a subsidised market event held at the National Monument (Monas) area in Jakarta on Saturday (28/3/2026).

This programme is implemented as an effort to maintain food price stability while assisting the community following Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.

Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that this subsidised market event serves as a moment to share joy with the community after Lebaran, while ensuring the availability of essential needs at affordable prices.

“For one voucher worth Rp 500,000, Rp 300,000 is in the form of basic food items, while Rp 200,000 can be exchanged for UMKM products,” said Teddy.

In its implementation, this programme involves various government agencies and state-owned enterprises in the food sector such as Bulog, ID FOOD, and PT Berdikari, which contribute supplies of basic goods and animal protein for the public.

The aid provided includes rice, eggs, cooking oil, sugar, sardines, and animal protein products to strengthen household food resilience.

In addition to food aid distribution, the subsidised market also features public entertainment, door prizes of 1,000 bicycles and 100 electric motorbikes, as well as an open music stage for the community as part of efforts to increase purchasing power and invigorate public economic activity.

The distribution is carried out at five points for handing out basic food items to visitors attending the event.

This participation forms part of their commitment to expanding public access to essential needs at affordable prices and supporting the government’s efforts to maintain price stability and public food resilience.

The cross-sectoral collaboration in this subsidised market event is expected to have a positive impact on price stability, maintain food inflation, and strengthen community social resilience post-Lebaran.

With support from various parties including groups, the subsidised market programme at Monas serves as an example of synergy between the government and state-owned enterprises in safeguarding national economic stability.
