Government Disburses Rp26.34 Trillion in Economic Stimulus for Second Half of 2026

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government has disbursed an economic stimulus package for the second half of 2026, with a total budget prepared amounting to Rp26.34 trillion.

“So the total stimulus issued by the government for this second semester is worth around Rp26.34 trillion. The transport incentive stimulus is around Rp2.04 trillion, internship and vocational programmes around Rp6.26 trillion, and food assistance amounting to Rp18.04 trillion,” said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto during a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.

Airlangga detailed that one of the stimuli provided by the government is the setting of a final Income Tax (PPh) rate on royalties of 1.5 percent for writers.

The government is also providing various transport discount incentives during the school holiday and Christmas-New Year (Nataru) periods.

For the school holidays, the government is offering a 30 percent discount on train tickets from 20 June to 5 July 2026, a 30 percent discount on basic ship fares from 20 June to 15 August 2026, and an exemption from ASDP port service fees from 20 June to 5 July 2026.

Additionally, the government is providing a 100 percent Government-Borne Value Added Tax (PPN DTP) incentive for domestic economy class flight tickets.

Meanwhile, for the Nataru period, the government is offering a 30 percent discount on train tickets from 22 December 2026 to 4 January 2027, a 30 percent discount on basic ship fares from 17 December 2026 to 10 January 2027, and an exemption from ASDP port service fees from 22 December 2026 to 10 January 2027. The 100 percent PPN DTP incentive will also be reapplied for economy class flight tickets.

In the next programme, the government is providing a number of stimuli in the industrial sector, including an exemption from import duties on LPG for the petrochemical industry and a 0 percent import duty rate for aircraft spare parts.

In the employment sector, the government is continuing its internship and vocational programmes.

Then, in the social protection sector, the government is distributing food assistance for three months to 33.24 million recipients.

The government is also continuing its programme to stabilise food supply and prices through a rice subsidy of Rp2,000 per kilogramme with a quota of 250,000 tonnes.
