Government Disburses Rp18.9 Trillion to 546 Regions

Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian announced that the government has transferred approximately Rp18.9 trillion in additional funds to regional governments. The decision was approved by President Prabowo Subianto and supported by a Decree of the Minister of Finance on 5 August 2026. The total is allocated for 546 regions.

Tito explained that the total of Rp18.9 trillion consists mostly of Revenue Sharing Funds (DBH), with the remainder being General Allocation Funds (DAU). He stated that more than Rp10 trillion of this amount represents underpayments of DBH now being paid to the regions, while over Rp8 trillion is an additional top-up to the General Allocation Fund.

Tito expressed hope that the budget would resolve fiscal issues in several regional governments, thereby preventing them from implementing layoff policies for Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK/P3K). He added that the additional budget is also intended for development purposes in regions with weak fiscal conditions.
