Government deploys 161,243 personnel for Eid holiday security operations

The government has deployed 161,243 combined personnel for security operations during the Eid al-Fitr holiday season. Operation Ketupat 2026 commenced on 13-25 March 2026, mobilising a joint force of police and military personnel to ensure safety and order during Eid celebrations for 1447 Hijri.

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and Military Commander General Agus Subiyanto inspected the assembled troops at a deployment ceremony held at the National Monument in Jakarta on Thursday, 12 March 2026. The combined personnel represented a coordinated effort between the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) to manage the security challenges associated with the high-volume holiday period when millions of Indonesians travel for family celebrations.
