Government Deemed Successful in Maintaining Fuel Availability During Eid
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Central Board of the Golkar Party assesses that the government has successfully maintained fuel availability during Eid 2026, serving as strong evidence of the effectiveness of President Prabowo Subianto’s leadership in managing the national energy sector.
“The success is inseparable from the President’s strategic directives, effectively implemented by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia, to ensure supply remains secure amid the surge in consumption during Eid,” said Abdul Rahman Farisi, Secretary of the Economic Policy Division of the Golkar Party’s Central Board, in Jakarta on Monday.
He stated that the Eid period is always a crucial moment for the energy sector, as national fuel consumption typically rises significantly, particularly for petrol and diesel.
However, the government was able to anticipate this surge through thorough distribution planning and strengthened supply reserves.
He assessed that compared to several countries in the region that often experience distribution disruptions during long holiday periods, Indonesia has managed to maintain stability effectively.
“Indonesia can be considered quite successful in maintaining supply. This demonstrates that our energy management system is increasingly robust and adaptive,” he explained.
He noted that this success not only impacts public comfort during the homecoming and return journeys but also safeguards national economic stability, particularly in controlling seasonal inflation.
According to him, the cross-sectoral coordination led directly by President Prabowo, along with the technical execution by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, was a key factor in this achievement.
He also assessed that the government’s steps to strengthen energy distribution infrastructure, including the optimisation of refineries, fuel terminals, and logistics networks, have made a significant contribution to ensuring supply remains secure across Indonesia.
“This is not just about maintaining supply during Eid, but it shows that the state is present in guaranteeing the basic needs of the people. Energy stability is an important foundation for economic stability,” he said.
He hopes that this success can serve as a model for future energy management, including in facing global challenges due to geopolitical uncertainties.
“Going forward, this working pattern should be maintained to ensure that national energy resilience remains intact,” he said.
