Jakarta (ANTARA) - The government is continuing its economic stimulus programme for the second half of 2026 with a total food aid budget of Rp18.04 trillion.

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto stated that the primary programme being extended is the rice aid, which will run for three months from July to September 2026. The initiative targets 33.24 million recipients with a budget requirement of Rp17.54 trillion.

“At the direction of President Prabowo, this programme is continued for three months, namely July, August and September, for 33.24 million recipients with a budget requirement of Rp17.54 trillion,” Airlangga said during a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.

In addition to rice aid, the government has also prepared a supply and price stabilisation programme through a subsidy for soybeans intended for tofu and tempeh producers. Under this scheme, the government provides a subsidy of Rp2,000 per kilogram with a quota of 250,000 tonnes of soybeans.

Airlangga explained that both the rice aid and food stabilisation programmes have been discussed with the Coordinating Ministry for Food and relevant technical ministries, and have received direction from the President.

“Regarding the rice aid and food stabilisation, this has been discussed in a meeting with the Coordinating Minister for Food, who has sent correspondence to us at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs. We have discussed this across ministries and also received direction from the President,” he clarified.

Overall, the government has prepared an economic stimulus package for the second half of 2026 valued at Rp26.34 trillion.
