The government has taken firm steps to strengthen state enterprise governance, including conducting a comprehensive evaluation of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN). According to the Head of the Danantara Investment Management Agency and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM, Rosan Roeslani, the evaluation is being carried out in accordance with President Prabowo Subianto's directives to ensure all BUMN leadership shares aligned vision and mission.

"We are conducting this evaluation not only with Danantara itself, but we will also evaluate in cooperation with advisors, both domestic and international, in order to improve competency, propriety, commitment and character," said Rosan in his statement following the Danantara Indonesia 2025 Town Hall event at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on 28 April 2025.

In his report during the event, Rosan stated that 844 state-owned enterprises have officially become part of Danantara. He emphasised that Danantara is an embodiment of Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution, which stipulates that Indonesia's economy shall be organised based on the principle of kinship.

"Indonesia's economy is organised, not self-organised. Self-organised means surrendering entirely to market mechanisms. We respect market mechanisms, but the government also has the right to intervene when market mechanisms have strayed far from national interests and future national development," Rosan continued.

Furthermore, Rosan said that Danantara's establishment marks an important milestone in strengthening national economic self-reliance. He noted this is particularly significant amid rising global geopolitical and geoeconomic tensions.

"Danantara arrives at a very opportune time. Why? Because if we look at recent developments, the sharply increasing geopolitical and geoeconomic tensions worldwide have made many nations realise that we must rely on our own economic strength," he said.

Rosan further underlined the importance of building synergy to form Indonesia Incorporated. In achieving this grand vision, he urged all Danantara and BUMN personnel to uphold three principles: character, competency and commitment.

"May the presence of Danantara, turning a new page together with BUMN, deliver extraordinary benefits and positive impact. Not only for Indonesia's economy, but also for the entire people, nation and beloved homeland," he concluded.
