The government has claimed that asset recovery from law enforcement efforts throughout 2025 reached Rp28.6 trillion, marking the largest figure on record.

The data was presented by Kurnia Ramadhana, Senior Expert at the Government Communications Agency (BKP), during a discussion hosted by the Legal Journalists Association (Iwakum) on Friday (20 February) in South Jakarta.

According to Kurnia, the figure represents the highest ever recorded, with the entire amount having been deposited into the state treasury.

"The asset recovery we have documented across all law enforcement agencies represents the largest figure to date. Throughout 2025, total asset recovery that has entered the state treasury — not potential but actual — stands at Rp28.6 trillion," Kurnia said.

He explained that the asset recovery value came from three law enforcement institutions: the Attorney General's Office, the National Police, and the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

The breakdown shows approximately Rp24 trillion came from the Attorney General's Office, Rp1.53 trillion from the KPK, and Rp2.37 trillion from the National Police.

"This is one form of government support for law enforcement, which has begun to shift its direction. It no longer focuses solely on an individual-based approach but also on an asset-based approach," Kurnia said.

On a separate matter, the government is also urging parliament to expedite deliberation of the Asset Forfeiture Bill. According to Kurnia, the President has repeatedly expressed his desire for the bill to be enacted promptly.

Parliament has already commenced deliberation of the Asset Forfeiture Bill. Kurnia assessed that the bill is important not only for the government but also to ensure that law enforcement has a clearer direction.

"There are already many examples in other countries. The issue with the Asset Forfeiture Bill has long been the very large gap between state financial losses and restitution payments," he said.
