The Head of Public Relations, Data, and Information Bureau of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Brigadier General TNI Honi Havana, said that they are continuously monitoring the development of the situation intensively. “The Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs is continuously monitoring the situation in Papua, which remains relatively safe and conducive to this day,” said Honi on Monday (27/4/2026). “Efforts to maintain stability are continuously being carried out. Hopefully, everything can be controlled and there is no anarchy,” he added. Hundreds of students from the Papua Student Solidarity group held a demonstration in Jayapura City on the same day. The action, which took place at several points, briefly turned chaotic. The crowd began gathering in the morning in the Expo Waena area, Perumnas Tiga, Abepura Ring Road, to the Cenderawasih University campus. The rejection triggered clashes.
