Government-Business Collaboration Essential for High-Quality Projects
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (PPN/Bappenas) has stated that collaboration between the government and business entities is necessary to deliver high-quality, feasible, and sustainable projects that provide real benefits to society.
“The success of National Development is not measured solely by how many projects can be planned or offered to investors, but by how many projects can be realised as investments and provide tangible benefits to the community,” said the Deputy for Development Financing and Investment (PIP) at the Ministry of PPN/Bands, Putut Hari Satyaka, during a forum titled “Government–Business Synergy for Accelerating National Development” in Jakarta on Thursday.
During the forum, the Deputy for PIP emphasised three aspects that need strengthening: the quality of project planning and preparation, the strengthening of the investment ecosystem, and the enhancement of dialogue between the government and business entities.
According to him, strategic partnerships between the government and businesses are considered one of the solutions to accelerate the implementation of National Strategic Projects (PSN) across various regions in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chairman of the Organistion Division of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Taufan Eko Nugroho Rotorasiko, noted that Kadin views project quality and readiness as critical factors in encouraging business participation.
“Kadin Indonesia is ready to act as a bridge between the needs and the capabilities of the business world. We believe that a good project is not just one that is ready to offer, but one that is truly ready to invest, ready to execute, and provides economic impact,” he said.
Kurniawan Ariadi, Expert Staff to the Minister for Institutional Relations at the Ministry of PPN/Bappenas, explained that the planning of PSN is directed to ensure that proposed projects have a clear and measurable contribution to national development goals.
In carrying out the role of planning and controlling PSN, the ministry is encouraging projects to be well-targeted and to support job creation, economic growth, and the improvement of public welfare.
One instrument to align development priorities with business participation opportunities is the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) scheme.
Furthermore, during the event, Bappenas presented the PPP Book 2026. This book contains 76 projects valued at US$63.45 billion across more than 10 sectors, opening various opportunities for business participation. This involvement is not limited to acting as investors but can also be achieved through financing support or by acting as initiators of PPP projects.
As a concrete step, Kadin Indonesia is set to launch the Kadin PPP and Innovative Strategic Financing Task Force during the 2026 Kadin National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas).
Bayu Priawan Djokosoetono, Vice Chairman for National Planning of Kadin Indonesia, explained that this Task Force will function as a coordination and curation bridge for priority projects to overcome investment obstacles, particularly regarding unsolicited PPP projects.
“Through this synergy, Kadin, as a strategic partner to the government, is committed to providing an optimal contribution in supporting the acceleration of national development and economic growth,” stated Vice Chairman Bayu.
