Government awards Satyalancana Wira Karya to six individuals
President Prabowo Subianto awarded the Satyalancana Wira Karya to six individuals for their contributions to government administration in the management, development, and construction of marine and fisheries sectors in 2025. The award was formalised under Presidential Decree (Keppres) No. 126/TK/2025.
The award represents the nation’s appreciation for the recipients’ contributions to developing coastal marine and fisheries sectors. The ceremony was conducted by Interior Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian at the Kemendagri’s Sasana Bhakti Praja building in Jakarta today.
In his speech, Tito praised the recipients’ dedication in the marine and fisheries sector, noting that the award process involved a lengthy procedure and multiple ministries and agencies as part of the selection committee.
“After screening by the selection committee, combined efforts, and field checks, Alhamdulillah, you have been chosen to receive this honour,” Tito stated in his remarks on Monday, 1 June 2026.
He added that despite the modest and solemn ceremony, the national appreciation remains significant, especially given Indonesia’s vast potential in marine and fisheries, making this award a key milestone.
Tito further noted that Indonesia’s significant maritime potential comes with challenges in management and development, requiring individuals capable of driving the sector’s development from upstream to downstream.
“We also have lakes and artificial reservoirs, numbering around 1,500, which hold potential for harnessing natural resources and God’s blessings for the benefit of our people,” he said.
Tito also expressed hope that maritime development would be carried out optimally and sustainably, such as through marine conservation efforts producing high-value products.
He also hoped the award would motivate regional governments to continue innovating in advancing the maritime sector.
The Satyalancana Wira Karya award was received by South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru, Riau Islands Governor Ansar Ahmad, Demak Regent Eisti’anah, Pangkep Regent Muhammad Yusran Lalogau, Manado Mayor Andrei Angouw, and East Java Provincial Marine and Fisheries Service Head Muhammad Isa Anshori.
