The government has addressed rumours regarding plans to raise the price of fuel oil (BBM). State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has dismissed the rumour.

Prasetyo stated that the government, along with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) and Pertamina, has held discussions following the emergence of the issue. The decision was taken under direct instructions from President Prabowo Subianto.

“Therefore, we need to convey that after conducting coordination, in this case the government and the Ministry of ESDM together with Pertamina and under instructions from the President, the President always prioritises the interests of the people and society in making decisions,” Prasetyo told reporters on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

“For that reason, Pertamina has stated that it will not make any price adjustments for either subsidised BBM or non-subsidised BBM,” he continued.

Prasetyo urged the public not to be influenced by unverified rumours. He guaranteed that the government is committed to maintaining price stability to protect the public’s purchasing power.

“We hope that with this statement, the public can obtain clearer and more accurate information, and we hope the public does not need to panic,” he said.

He stated that fuel availability is also secure. He asked the public not to worry.

“No need to be anxious because we guarantee the availability of BBM. We guarantee it. And there will be no price adjustments,” he said.

“That is what we can convey. Once again, happy activities to all Indonesian people,” Prasetyo concluded.
