JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — The Government and PT Pertamina (Persero) have assured that national energy supplies remain secure amid tensions in the Middle East and ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2026. Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia said the average national energy stock is above the minimum standard. The reserves cover fuels, crude oil, and LPG. ‘Regarding preparations for the Eid al-Fitr holiday and the fasting month, alhamdulillah, I can say that for the stock of BBM, crude, and elpiji, all are above the national minimum standard. All of them are above 21 days,’ he said at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Jakarta, on Tuesday (3/3/2026). The government is preparing storage facilities with capacity up to three months. ‘That’s why now the government is working on building storage that can hold up to 3 months, because that is the international standard,’ he added. Pertamina’s Vice President Corporate Communication Muhammad Baron said demand for petrol such as Pertalite and Pertamax is projected to rise by 12 percent during the Lebaran holidays. Diesel consumption is projected to fall by 14.5 percent due to mobility restrictions for logistics vehicles. Avtur consumption is expected to rise by 2.8 percent. Kerosene or lamp oil consumption is projected to rise by 4.2 percent. ‘We have increased energy supply, built up stocks to anticipate higher consumption of these fuels during the outbound and return flows. Petrol, LPG, and avtur stocks are secure and can meet the needs of the Indonesian people,’ he said at Grha Pertamina, Jakarta, on Tuesday (3/2/2026).
