Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Manpower Yassierli revealed that the government, through the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Finance, has approved a quota of 150,000 participants for the 2026 National Internship Programme.

“Thankfully, I also announced earlier that we met at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs with the Finance Minister and the Deputy State Secretary. Thank God, President Prabowo Subianto’s directive for 2026 has been met, enabling us to prepare the National Internship Programme for 150,000 participants,” Minister Yassierli said at a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday.

He added that this figure represents an increase from last year’s National Internship Programme, which had a quota of 100,000 participants.

He also stated that the government has approved the budget for this year’s programme and is preparing a timeline for recent university graduates interested in joining the 2026 National Internship Programme.

“We will soon prepare the timeline starting with company registration, and the first batch of the second intake of the 2026 National Internship Programme will be launched for 50,000 participants,” Minister Yassierli said.

Furthermore, Yassierli explained that the programme’s implementation will begin with coordination between the government and partner companies, who will then upload internship vacancies for potential participants to choose from.

“Then, companies will conduct administrative or online screenings, after which the programme can proceed,” he added.

The Minister of Manpower aims to launch the first phase of the 2026 National Internship Programme in July.

“God willing, we can commence in July for the first batch of the second intake of the 2026 National Internship Programme, targeting 50,000 participants. This is good news for fresh graduates from the past year,” Minister Yassierli said.

“For the 2026 National Internship Programme, we will open subsequent batches two and three, bringing the total to 150,000 participants,” he added.
