Government and DPR Target Completion of 8% Ojol Commission Cut Perpres Next Week

The government and the House of Representatives (DPR) are targeting the completion of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 7 of 2026 concerning an 8 per cent commission cut for online motorcycle taxi (ojol) applications by next week.

Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi explained that the 8 per cent commission cut scheme for ojol has actually been implemented on the ground. “So the friends from the National Ojol Coalition also conveyed that as of 1 July it has been implemented,” Prasetyo said after a meeting at the DPR Building, Central Jakarta, Thursday, 23 July 2026.

However, the Perpres is still being discussed between the government and the DPR. Prasetyo said there are a number of things that need to be improved in the Perpres. “It has been in effect all this time even though the Perpres does not yet exist. But there are still some things, what is it called, the realisation on the ground that needs to be fixed, needs to be perfected,” said Prasetyo.

He stated that the government and the DPR will hold another meeting to finalise the discussion of the Perpres next week. This Perpres is also targeted for completion next week. “Next week, next week. So that everything is finished soon,” Prasetyo revealed.

Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker of the DPR RI Sufmi Dasco Ahmad said that during the meeting between DPR leaders and the government, his party received input from the National Ojol Coalition. The input concerned the implementation of the tariff distribution scheme of 92 per cent for drivers and 8 per cent for applicators, which has been in effect since 1 July 2026.

“Yes, earlier we also heard from the National Ojol Coalition, received input from them about how the tariff, from the implementation of the 92 (per cent for ojol), 8 per cent (application) has been running and its evaluation,” said Dasco.

Besides the Minister of State Secretary, government officials attending the meeting included Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas, Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, Minister of MSMEs Maman Abdurrahman, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, COO of DANANTARA/Head of BP BUMN Dony Oskaria, and Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria.
