JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The government and Bank Indonesia (BI) have launched the National Intermediation Acceleration Programme (PINISI) to encourage credit distribution so that national economic growth can increase.

BI Governor Perry Warjiyo stated that PINISI will serve as a platform to strengthen communication and coordination between regulators and the government.

Through PINISI, it is hoped that various issues hindering credit distribution can be resolved, allowing credit to flow more smoothly and directly contributing to economic growth.

“At the same time, to successfully implement various presidential strategic programmes and projects that we need to complete, to mobilise priority sectors and the real sector,” he said at the PINISI launch event at his office in Jakarta on Monday (27/4/2026).

This is because government policies must be accompanied by effective implementation reaching the business world, banking, and society.

In addition, the government and regulators must also build business confidence and facilitate financing for national priority projects.

“We have a strong policy framework, and that is what we must enhance, including downstreaming and industrialisation policies to drive high economic growth,” he added.

“PINISI is a manifestation of cross-institutional synergy to strengthen national economic growth,” said Airlangga on the same occasion.

According to him, intermediation in the financial services sector is crucial because it can add value to the MSME sector, which has long been the backbone of the national economy.

The government itself continues to encourage credit distribution to the MSME sector.

As of 31 March 2026, the realisation of government programme credit has reached Rp78.39 trillion, or about 25% of this year’s target.

“I hope that with PINISI, business optimism will strengthen again, and intermediation will flow to productive sectors,” Airlangga stated.
