The government is also implementing a work-from-home (WFH) policy for private sector employees. This will be regulated by the Minister of Manpower.
“The implementation of work from home for the private sector will be further regulated in the Circular of the Minister of Manpower,” said Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto during a press conference on Tuesday (31/3/2026), quoted from detikNews.
Airlangga stated that the WFH schedule will begin from 1 April 2026 and will differ for each business sector.
“While still considering the characteristics and needs of each business sector,” he said.
Airlangga added that the Manpower Minister will also regulate energy efficiency in the workplace.
“The regulation through the Circular of the Minister of Manpower also includes a movement for energy efficiency in the workplace,” he explained.
Previously reported, the government has set a work-from-home policy or WFH for one working day per week for Civil Servants (ASN).
“The implementation of work from home for ASN in central and regional agencies is carried out for one working day per week, namely every Friday,” said Airlangga.
