Government allocates Rp4.2 trillion for 2026 National Internship Programme
The government is preparing a budget of Rp4.2 trillion for the 2026 National Internship Programme (MagangHub) Batch 2, which is set to commence its series in July.
“This is good news for our recent university graduates. The number of participants is increasing from 100,000 to 150,000, with a budget of approximately Rp4.2 trillion,” stated the Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, during a press conference in Jakarta on Monday.
He noted that the quota for the first batch of the 2026 National Internship Programme is 50,000 people, with registration open from 15 to 28 July.
“Regarding participant registration, which many are waiting for, it will be open from 15 to 28 July. Therefore, there are still two weeks left for participants to prepare themselves,” said the Minister.
Meanwhile, companies have until 15 July to register and undergo the verification process to become partner organisers for this year’s National Internship Programme.
“These two weeks are an opportunity for companies to log in, register on the MagangHub platform, and post available internship vacancies. We encourage companies, ministries, and agencies to take advantage of this opportunity,” Yassierli said.
He added, “We will conduct verifications to ensure that the vacancies are truly suitable for university graduates.”
Following the conclusion of the participant registration period on 28 July, candidates for the 2026 National Internship Programme will undergo verification and selection from 29 July to 5 August. Successful participants will be announced on 7 August, with the first day of the 2026 National Internship Programme Batch I officially commencing on 10 August.
The National Internship Programme is also included in the economic stimulus package for the second semester of 2026, which is expected to strengthen the national employment sector.
The programme is designed by the government to bridge the gap between university graduates and the needs of the workforce. Participants will undergo a six-month internship and receive an allowance equivalent to the Regency/City Minimum Wage (UMK).
Furthermore, participants will receive social protection in the form of Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Benefits (JK).
In addition, the Ministry of Manpower is also preparing competency certification programmes for MagangHub participants as a follow-up after the internship programme concludes.
