JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Spokesperson for the Task Force for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Post-Disaster in Sumatra, Amran, stated that the central government has transferred Rp 877 billion to three provinces affected by floods and landslides in Sumatra, namely Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. Amran said that the budget can be used by each province for the rehabilitation of agricultural land destroyed by flash floods. “Based on data, 94,742 hectares were affected, and assistance has been provided along with transfers to the regions in the three provinces, amounting to Rp 877,126,124,000. This data comes from the Ministry of Agriculture,” said Amran during a press conference at the Ministry of Home Affairs office in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (6/5/2026). Meanwhile, for residents’ houses, the construction of temporary housing or huntara is nearly complete at 93 per cent or 19,169 units out of a target of 20,473 units. The remaining 7 per cent is currently in the detailed data collection stage as well as the on-site construction process. “As for national road access, it is already 100 per cent connected. This has been the case since several months ago; since the beginning of the year, it has been fully open,” he added.
