Government allocates IDR 105 billion for school revitalisation in East Lombok
Two main programmes being implemented by the Ministry of Education and Culture are school revitalisation and digitalisation.
East Lombok (ANTARA) - Minister of Basic and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu’ti, said that the government has allocated a budget of IDR 105 billion for school revitalisation in East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province, to improve the quality of education.
“This school revitalisation is part of President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programme within the fourth AstaCita, namely building superior, healthy and highly competitive Indonesian human resources,” said Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti at the inauguration ceremony for school revitalisation in East Lombok, Sunday.
He said that the event, which was prepared in a short time, was a form of happiness and good cooperation between the central government, provinces and regions.
“Two main programmes being implemented by the Ministry of Education and Culture are school revitalisation and digitalisation,” said the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education.
“In detail, there are 69 early childhood education centres (PAUD), 227 elementary schools (SD), 107 junior high schools (SMP), 60 senior high schools (SMA), 17 vocational schools (SMK), 20 special needs schools (SLB), and 11 non-formal education/special guidance centres (PKBM/SKB),” said the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education.
He said that specifically in East Lombok Regency, this school revitalisation programme targets 87 schools with a total budget of IDR 105 billion.
“The school revitalisation programme consists of 7 PAUDs, 36 SDs, 19 SMPs, 9 SMAs, 12 SMKs, and 4 SLBs,” said Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti.
For the digitalisation programme, he added, the Ministry of Education and Culture has distributed 7,080 Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) or Smart Interactive Board (PID) devices to schools in West Nusa Tenggara with a value of IDR 236.168 billion.
The Minister of Basic and Secondary Education emphasised three important things to advance education, namely a mindset for progress, a strong mentality, and a sincere mission.
He reminded that facilities and technology will not be meaningful without quality teachers and students’ enthusiasm for learning.
“Teachers are the key, technology is important, facilities are important, but teachers cannot be replaced. Therefore, we focus on teacher qualifications, competence and welfare,” said the Minister of Basic and Secondary Education.
He hopes that all assistance in terms of facilities, infrastructure and IFPs can be used to their full potential by schools and teachers.
“With the cooperation of all parties, the Ministry of Education and Culture is targeting the realisation of quality education for all in accordance with the President’s direction through the fourth AstaCita,” said Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Abdul Mu’ti.
