West Lombok, NTB (ANTARA) - The central government has allocated 6,918 units for the home renovation programme under Bantuan Stimulan Perumahan Swadaya (BSPS) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Housing and Settlements Ministry (PKP) Minister Maruarar Sirait said the NTB allocation is four times higher than the 2025 allocation. ‘In 2025, NTB received 1,610 units; in 2026, 6,918 units, so there is a fourfold increase from last year,’ he said in Senggigi, West Lombok on Tuesday. At the occasion, Maruarar Sirait had just completed a coordination meeting led by Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djamari Chaniago and attended by Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian and the governors and regents/mayors of the NTB, Maluku, and North Maluku regions in the Senggigi tourism area, NTB. ‘So the increase is very large, from 45 thousand to 400 thousand,’ Ara, as he is familiarly known, said. Ara emphasised that the programme is aimed at expanding access to decent housing for low-income communities, including in border regions. ‘This increase is part of President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to broaden access to decent housing for low-income households,’ he said. He said the programme is also aimed at strengthening the presence of the state in border areas. The government is allocating around 15 thousand housing units for island and border areas through coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs, which also serves as the National Border Management Agency.
