Government affirms that subsidised and non-subsidised fuel prices will not rise
Jakarta (ANTARA) - State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has stated that the government ensures that the prices of fuel oil (BBM), both subsidised and non-subsidised, will not experience any increase. Through an official statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday, Prasetyo said the decision was taken after the government coordinated with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) and PT Pertamina, in line with directives from President Prabowo Subianto. “The President always prioritises the interests of the people and society in making decisions. Therefore, Pertamina has stated that it will not adjust prices for either subsidised BBM or non-subsidised BBM,” Prasetyo said. “We hope this statement provides the public with clearer and more accurate information, and we urge the public not to panic or worry because we guarantee the availability of BBM. We guarantee it, and there will be no price adjustments,” he explained. The government hopes this clarification will provide accurate information to the public while quelling concerns over the rumours of fuel price increases that had been circulating.
