Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has affirmed the government’s commitment to advancing the transformation of the national vehicle ecosystem based on new and renewable energy. He made the statement in the context of plans to build a national electric motorcycle factory, describing it as a strategic step to strengthen domestic electric motorcycle production.

“This proves that if we have the will, if we have the desire, the Indonesian nation can achieve it,” Prasetyo said at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday. He further stated that developing national electric vehicle production is part of the effort to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.

Prasetyo called on all parties to support the realisation of the nation’s ambition in building a national electric vehicle industry. “If there are still a few shortcomings, let us work together to fix them,” he concluded. Previously, President Prabowo Subianto had emphasised the government’s target to launch a national electric motorcycle in the near future as part of building the domestic automotive industry ecosystem. “We will have electric motorcycles made by Indonesian children, we will have electric cars made by Indonesian children,” the President stated during a speech in Malang Regency, East Java.
