Government advances MagangHub 2026 programme and gradual fuel subsidy control

The Ministry of Manpower recorded that 46,160 participants have passed the selection process and commenced the second batch of the National Internship Programme (MagangHub) for university graduates on 10 August 2026. The six-month programme is a government initiative designed to strengthen the transition of graduates, including those from professional education, into the workforce through real work experience, mentor guidance, and the reinforcement of competencies and work culture.

Cooperatives Minister Ferry Juliantono stated that the Revolving Fund Management Agency (LPDB) for Cooperatives is ready to support financing for cooperatives developing palm oil processing businesses, including the construction of crude palm oil (CPO) mills.

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa acknowledged that he has frequently coordinated and worked closely with Destry Damayanti, the sole candidate proposed by President Prabowo for the position of Bank Indonesia Governor. “It is good; she has considerable experience. And I am quite close to her,” Purbaya said in Jakarta on Tuesday when asked about the nomination.

PT Bank BCA Syariah noted that gold remains a popular long-term investment instrument for the public. BCA Syariah Director Pranata told a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday that this is reflected in the company’s gold financing growth, which rose 127.6 percent from Rp301 billion in June 2025 to Rp684 billion as of June 2026.

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa also stated that the control of fuel subsidies, particularly for Pertalite, will be carried out in stages, and that Pertamina’s existing system is capable of implementing such restrictions.
