Government Accelerates Investment Through Debottlenecking Task Force
The government is moving quickly to unravel various investment obstacles in Indonesia by strengthening the role of the Debottlenecking Task Force. This strategic move was affirmed during a meeting between Presidential Chief of Staff Dudung Abdurachman and Deputy Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Todotua Pasaribu on Tuesday (11/8/2026), as reported by Detik Finance. The main focus of the Debottlenecking Task Force includes resolving issues related to licensing, spatial planning, land, and the readiness of industrial estates. This effort is carried out through close coordination between ministries, agencies, and local governments to ensure the smooth flow of capital within the country. ‘The Presidential Staff Office is overseeing President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programmes, in this case specifically to maintain investment momentum and strengthen downstreaming that increasingly benefits the economy and society,’ said Presidential Chief of Staff Dudung. Dudung also expressed appreciation for the performance of the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming, which recorded an investment growth of 7.2 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2026. The investment realisation reached Rp 1,010.4 trillion and absorbed approximately 1.45 million direct workers. To accelerate the national downstreaming programme, the government is collaborating with Danantara Indonesia to prepare 19 priority projects with an investment value of around Rp 228 trillion. Some of these strategic projects have already commenced their groundbreaking stages in February and April 2026. ‘The Presidential Staff Office is overseeing the acceleration of these projects so they provide added value for the national economy,’ Dudung stated.
