The government is targeting the completion of construction for the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG), or Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) kitchens, in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions by this week.

This was conveyed by Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, known as Zulhas, following a meeting with the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), the Minister of State Secretary, the Minister of Health, and other relevant ministers.

“Today we decided that the 3T regions will be completed within this week,” said Zulhas at the Coordinating Ministry for Food office in Central Jakarta on Thursday, 6 August 2026.

He stated that the government has a short-term target for improving MBG governance. The construction of SPPG in 3T regions is included as a short-term target and will be completed within one week.

“Our targets include the short term, which is one month, and it must be completed, especially the SPPG in the 3T regions,” he revealed.

The regions classified as 3T include Papua, Maluku, and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). He noted that these areas are considered to have relatively high stunting rates.

Zulhas said that data collection for MBG beneficiaries is also targeted for completion within one month.

“So that data from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Population and Civil Registration Agency, the Ministry of Education, and BGN are all connected,” he explained.
