JAKARTA - The government is accelerating the management of defence assets within the operational areas of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) through coordination between the Ministry of Defence (Kemhan), the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), and TNI AU.

The discussion took place during a meeting between Deputy Minister of Defence Donny Ermawan Taufanto, Minister of ATR/BPN Nusron Wahid, and Chief of Staff of the Air Force Marshal TNI Mohamad Tonny Harjono at the Kemhan office in Jakarta on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

‘The meeting addressed the progress of handling defence assets in TNI AU operational areas, including accelerating land administration rectification, certification processes, securing state assets, and synchronising cross-ministerial and institutional steps to address legal and social dynamics on the ground,’ according to a statement from Kemhan’s Infohan Bureau on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.

Donny stated that defence asset management must be carried out systematically while considering social stability.

‘The Deputy Minister also emphasised the importance of synergy between Kemhan, ATR/BPN, TNI AU, and relevant agencies to ensure all asset management processes comply with legal regulations while balancing national and public interests,’ the statement added.

Kemhan, ATR/BPN, and TNI AU will further strengthen coordination to expedite certification and security of defence assets and minimise potential legal disputes and social conflicts.
