Government Absorbs Rp 9.45 Trillion from State Sukuk Auction

The Ministry of Finance announced the results of an auction for eight series of Sharia Government Securities (SBSN) or State Sukuk on Wednesday, 17 June 2026. Total incoming bids from investors in this week’s sukuk auction amounted to Rp 19.14 trillion.

The ministry had previously targeted fresh funds of Rp 12 trillion in this bond auction. However, the amount absorbed was lower than that target. “The Minister of Finance has set the total nominal amount won from the eight series offered at Rp 9.45 trillion,” according to a statement from the Directorate General of Financing and Risk Management on Thursday, 18 June 2026.

The purpose of the auction is to meet part of the financing target in the 2026 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN). The SBSN series auctioned were SPNS10082026 (reopening), SPNS16122026 (new issuance), SPNS01032027 (reopening), PBS030 (reopening), PBS040 (reopening), PBSG002 (reopening), PBS034 (reopening) and PBS038 (reopening).

The most sought-after series were SPNS01032027 and PBS030, with incoming bids of Rp 5.42 trillion and Rp 4.71 trillion respectively. The weighted average yield won from the eight series in this auction ranged from 6.75 percent to 7.21 percent, higher than the previous auction’s range of 6.2 percent to 6.9 percent.

Investor interest in this auction declined compared to the previous auction. At the Sukuk auction on 2 June 2026, total incoming bids were worth Rp 26.04 trillion. From that amount, the Ministry of Finance decided to award Rp 8.85 trillion.

Government bond offerings are part of budget financing and also cover this year’s APBN deficit, which is targeted to reach Rp 689.1 trillion. Based on the law on the state revenue and expenditure budget for the 2026 fiscal year, or UU APBN number 17 of 2025, debt financing this year is targeted at Rp 832.2 trillion. This figure is up compared to last year’s target of Rp 775.9 trillion.
