Governance academy wanted in Papua
JAYAPURA, Irian Jaya: Around 200 subdistrict heads in Irian
Jaya urged the provincial administration on Wednesday to reopen
the Academy for Domestic Governance (APDN) next year to help
improve the quality of human resources in the province.
The demand was raised during a meeting with Irian Jaya
Governor Jaap P. Salossa.
Tonce Sarwa, head of the Skamto subdistrict in Jayapura, said
such an academy was urgently needed in the province to further
improve the skills and professionalism of locals.
"The quality of Papuans is no longer undoubtable. We only wait
for more infrastructure to support education," he said. --Antara
